Business markets have become more competitive than ever. With the adoption of a vast range of enterprise services, large companies are increasingly becoming more efficient and connected. With that being said small and medium enterprises often have a hard time keeping up with today’s latest trends in technology especially if they don’t have a dedicated IT staff. To keep up with emerging technologies, more and more companies are embracing the use of a virtual desktop infrastructure or VDI that allows users the ability to access their platform from anywhere. To do this, they use as Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) subscription where a cloud computing provider helps facilitate these needs. Daas is the wave of the future and can have a significant impact on your company’s productivity.

With Daas(Desktop as a service), desktop operating systems run inside virtual machines on servers in a cloud provider's data center. All required support infrastructure, including storage and network resources, also remains in the cloud. As with on-premises VDI, Desktop as a service providers streams virtual desktops over a network to a customer's endpoint devices, where end users may access them through client software or a web browser.

DaaS architecture is multi-tenant, and company purchases this service through a subscription model -- typically this subscription is based on the number of virtual desktop required by the organization per month. In the desktop-as-a-service model, the cloud computing service provider manages all the back-end responsibilities of data storage, backup, security and upgrades if required. While the service provider handles all the back-end infrastructure costs and maintenance, customers usually manage their own virtual desktop images, applications and security, unless those desktop management services become the part of the virtual desktop.

Typically, an end user's desktop data & information is copied to and from their virtual desktop during logging in and logoff, and the access to the desktop is through a device-, location- or it can be network-independently.
